Changing the way you weigh on JCB Teletruks

The precise way to weigh on JCB Teletruks

Most onboard weighing systems offered on the market use pressure sensors to measure the weight on the bucket/tool. But since the latest model of JCB Teletruk was bought to market the complex hydraulic system leads to hydraulic pressures not stable enough to provide the basis for an accurate weight reading.

Responding to this, SiteZone added a new product to their portfolio that uses a load pin connected to the lifting ram instead of pressure sensors to measure the weight data.

Graeme Melvill, Business Lead for Onboard Weighing at SiteZone, comments:

“Many of our customers using JCB Teletruks have been asking us for a system that overcomes the hydraulic pressure issue. We’ve responded by creating the VEI Helper TLT specifically for these vehicles.”

Drawing on VEI Group’s 30+ years of experience in weighing, the new system uses the VEI Helper M display connected to a load pin to get a precise reading of the load being lifted by your teletruk. You get all the benefits of a VEI weighing system – simplicity, reliability, and accuracy. Features include:

  • Record weight by product type
  • Real-time live reading of bucket contents
  • Calibrate up to 5 tools
  • Easy to use colour display and guided data entry
  • Robust design suited to the toughest environments
  • 3-year parts warranty

Graeme continues,

“We’ve been impressed with the high levels of accuracy and repeatability of the data we’ve seen on the trials. The system is competitively priced, easy to install, easy to use, and provides the operator with accurate load data in real time.  Having a live weight reading allows operators to load the correct amount of material, first time every time.

The ability to calibrate up to five tools means accuracy is maintained whether you are using standard buckets, bagging buckets or forks, and individual loads can be stored by product type to keep track of totals loaded by product. Weight totals by product can be read off the display and reset when desired, and detailed load data can be exported by USB into Excel or directly into VEI’s IpotWeb load recording, analysis, and reporting system.  An in-cab printer is also available for printing out dockets instantly.”
