“The core advantage of data is that it tells you something about the world that you didn’t know before.”

Hilary Mason, data scientist and founder of Fast Forward Labs

Data has become a vital part of what we do for our customers. It tells you what is happening on your site between people and plant. You can see where, when, how often, and who gets too close to mobile plant.

And this month the SiteZone data platform has been changing behind the scenes with a new version launched giving you trend data at your fingertips to help with behavioural change and risk mitigation.

What’s new?

•    Daily data refresh – get daily access to your site’s breach information for quicker interventions if needed.
•    Driver tag detail – see who was driving when a zone breach occurred
•    Filter by tag – filter by a tag ID to understand when, where, and with which vehicle a person is getting too close
•    Filter by breach type - focus on your unacknowledged alerts only
•    Breach detail – delve deeper into your data with a new detailed analysis view for a week or day. Monitor trends such as days of the week or hours of the day that you get more zone breaches

How can you use the data?

With so much data available these days, it can sometimes be overwhelming. But customers tell us the dashboard is user-friendly and immediately shows you the key data you need. Built in Microsoft Power BI also gives you familiarity with the suite of Microsoft tools you use daily. Being more informed helps you to understand staff training requirements, site layout and traffic management, and monitor behavioural change over time.

Here's a few examples of how our customers have used data to make real improvements on their sites:

FCC Smallmead
Over a 5 month period at FCC Smallmead, they saw an 83% improvement in unacknowledged zone breaches. Taking them from 1204 during a week in January to 198 during a week in May [2023].

SUEZ Avonmouth

The only way to make a lasting difference to plant pedestrian safety is to invest in behavioural change and the data helps you to do this, as well as monitor and report on success of changes.
