SiteZone becomes a LARAC Partner

As a trusted safety partner to the waste and recycling sector for more than 12 years, we wanted to increase the support we give to the sector by joining LARAC (The Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee).

LARAC is the leading voice for local authorities on recycling, waste, and resource management. Their mission is to influence UK waste policy for the benefit of their members. Keeping members well informed and providing premier local authority national waste conferences that act as a catalyst for information dissemination and promotion of good practice within local authorities.

Being a partner of LARAC means we are one of a select group of suppliers and service providers to Local Authorities whose partnership with LARAC allows them to provide high quality services to their members.

Gary Escott, Managing Director of SiteZone Safety, said:

"As a key supplier to the waste and recycling sector, we wanted to get on board with LARAC’s mission to help promote good practice and spark conversations about safety. Our proximity warning systems are installed on more than 150 waste sites, and with the recent launch of RCV Smart Loader for enforcing correct loading methods when using RCV bin lifts in automatic mode, it was the natural time for us to join.

About 50% of refuse collection contracts are now operated in-house so local authorities need to be aware of the risks of using RCV bin lifts in automatic mode and what is available to help improve safety and enforce correct operative loading methods out on the road.

We’re looking forward to being involved in the annual LARAC Conference and awards later in the year and talking to members throughout 2024.”

A spokesperson for LARAC said:

“LARAC are pleased to welcome SiteZone as our newest partner. We look forward to learning more about them in forthcoming blogs on our website and hope our members will benefit from the information they offer. It is also great to hear they will be exhibiting at the LARAC UK Conference in October 2024 so look forward to seeing them there.”
