The value of partnerships is being proven with FCC Environment and SiteZone Safety taking home their sixth award shortlisting this year for their collaborative work on the RCV Smart Loader.
Officially launched a year ago the product is helping keep crews safe when using Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV) bin lifts in automatic mode and having a big impact on behaviours out on the round.
The most recent awards shortlist is for the Materials Recycling World (MRW) National Recycling Awards in the Innovation in Recycling Equipment and Vehicles category. This award recognises the important role that equipment and vehicles play in improving the processes, operations and environmental impact of resources, waste and recycling organisations.
The winning entry must demonstrate an innovation in equipment that can improve the sector and results in significant measurable improvements. The award seeks to highlight novel concepts and ideas that challenge current norms.
This last sentence from the judging criteria sums up just what RCV Smart Loader and FCC Environment are doing. Adopting a new technological innovation that is unrivalled in the market. Instead of accepting the risk for their crews, FCC are challenging the current norms and leading the industry in adding additional measures that keep their crew safe and is proven to change behaviours out in the field.
