When we have a vehicle we need a weighing system for we explain the need/problem that our customer has, and Paul comes up with a solution. The first six units have been working very successfully for just over 12 months.”* A recent installation on a Volvo loading shovel that was working in a sawmill presented a unique challenge for SiteZone to solve. The machine was fitted with a log grab, and they needed the weigher as an overload indicator to alert them if they overloaded, keeping them safe and avoiding the risk of tipping the machine from carrying a too-heavy load. Gorrel came to Paul and SiteZone with this challenge, who talked it through and found a solution using the VEI Millennium 5 onboard weighing system. Paul adapted the setup and calibration so that as well as weighing it acted as an overload indicator set to a maximum weight. Rob went on to say: > *“It’s not just the service we get, but the product also fits our requirements. The system can be easily calibrated, and our customers can switch from weighing different products by changing the setup themselves with the user-guided entry on the in-cab machines. Our customers are very happy with accuracy of the weighing and the independence it gives them.* > > *As a rental business it’s important for us to have flexibility. The weighing system can be easily swapped from one vehicle to another by SiteZone so we can re-purpose the same machine for another customer.
